Food and feeding
Siamese tiger datnoid’s are carnivores and will eagerly eat up any smaller tank mates. They will accept shrimp pellets, blood worms, brine shrimp and chopped earth worms.
Origin
Siamese tiger datnoid’s are to be found on the Southeast mainland of Asia and Western Borneo.
Sexing
There are no visible differences between the sexes.
Breeding
There are no reported cases of Datnoides microlepis breeding in the aquarium, however in Indonesia they are being bred commercially. Their methods are not being revealed to the public as of yet.
Lifespan
The expected life span for Datnoides microlepis is 10 years.
Short description
Although Siamese tiger datnoid’s are classed as a non-aggressive species, they will quarrel amongst themselves. If kept as a group they will need a large aquarium, when first added they will explore the tank for a few days but after a while they may hide a lot in the bottom. Always add rocks or caves for them.Siamese tiger datnoid’s are peaceful fish, but they will consider very small fish as a dinner.
