These snakeheads will accept any live food offered, with a bit of patience they will gradually start to accept meaty frozen foods.

White Nile and the Lake Chad basin, Zaire.

There are no visible differences between the sexes.
Breeding
There are no records at this date as to how to induce these fish to spawn. It is known that there are very protective of their fry.

Expected lifespan is 10 years .
Short description
African snakeheads can live in low oxygen levels as they do need to take a gulp of air from the surface to survive. Plants should be added to the tank with plenty of hiding places for the fish. Never keep these with smaller fish as they are predatory.
